SPEECH BY SINISTER FOR RECON- ' STRL'CTION.:. Paris, September 18. M. Loucheur (Minister for Reconstruction), in a speech in the Chamber of Deputies, said that tho Peace Treaty would enable France to becomo a great and pacific nation. Germany was loyally co-operating in the restitution of stolen goods, and already had restored securities worth .£320,000,000.' ' The French mines would be started ..again in 1924. Meanwhilo Germany : would supply twenty million tons ot coal a year. It was not to tho interests of France
that German should bo destroyed economically. The Treaty doubled France's resources of iron ore, increases tho coal output by 17,000,000 tons, gave her oil wells, put her steel- production on a level with Germany and England, and enabled her to increase export, cotton raising, and the production of potash — Aus.-N.Z. Cable- Assn.
