Mr. A. C, Hv.lier, of Shannon, will be the Laboui candidate for the itanawatu seat at the general election. • Sir James Carroll, who had intended retiring from Parliament, lias consented to again become a candidate for the Gisbnnie sent at the general election.
Mr. R. M. Taiaroa, of Tamutti, Leeston, hns decided to stand as a supporter of ■ the Liberal Party for the Southern itaori seat.
The official reply of the Parliamentary Labour Party to the returned soldiers' demands on the gratuities question will be given at the opening meeting of the northern campaign this evening.
