A talk on roads, road building, and generally the economies of permanent road construction will be given to members of Parliament at the dinner adjournment of tho House this evening by Mr. Leonard M. Sandston, M.A., B.Sc. ' Mr. Sandston is an engineer by profession, a native of Christchurch, but he has been tor several years past in- America and Eurone. Ho has given talks to local bodies and public meetings in Australia on this subject. It is within the knowledge of every run.it who is interested in road-making and load maintenance, that the very ranid change in tho character of traffic has created new problems in road engineerimr. Mr. Sandston has proposals for the" control of arterial ,roads under Government supervision, and for tho construction of roads ,in permanent materials. This schemo involves experiment and research, improved professional knowledge, and schemes of finance. These nro tho topics on which Mr. Sandston intends to sneak with Ministers and members of Parliament.
