The ', Trade Union Congress at Glasgow, by 4,478,000 votes to 77,000, carried Mr. Eoberfc Smillie's resolution pledging Congress to co-operate with the Miners' Federation in compelling the Govern-, mont to adoot the nationalisation of mines..—Aus.-XZ. Cable Assn. ■ POLICE STRIKE DISCUSSED. London, September 10. Thero was an animated discussion at (he Trade Union Congress in Glasgow on tho Police Union delegates complaining, that the Parliamentary Committee had failed to support the police strikers. Mr. Sexton, M.P., declared that Mr. Marston, secretary of the union, was responsible for the union's defeat. After heated passages police delegates, withdrew their motion.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
