MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL
A meeting of tho Miramar Borough Council was held on.'Tuesday evening. There were present: His Worship tho Mayor (Mr. S. M. Stone), Councillors Robertshaw, Collie, Gardiner, M'Viea-r, Hicks, and. Bamett. Correspondence with the Treasury was read TO the repayment of loans by local authorities during tho tim'o the local authorities are unable to call up moneys due on mortgage on account of the moratorium. ' The Minister of Justice replied to the council's letter re the transfer of female prisoners to Point Halswell Prison. Councillor M'Vicar stated that it was proposed bv societies interested to form -a' deputation to wait on tho Minister. The oouncil decided that.Councillor M'Vicar net as tho council's representative at tho deputation. Tho City Tramways manager replied to the council's reoue.se that transfer tickets be" issued to Miramar passengers on cars stopping at Courtcnoy Place, stating thtf; he i did not seo his way. to arrange the matter. It was decided, that the Seatoun Marino Parade work be pushed on with.
