A HUGE INCREASE; The Government Statistician (Mr. M. Eraser) reports a Jiugo increase in , the value of ftew Zealand exports for the twelve months ended July. 31, 1919. The above figure* relate to produce of the Dominion only. ' ' Imports likewise show an increase,.but not in volume.' Tho imports for tho first seven months of 1918 were valued at . Cl 3 391,105; those for the first seven months of 1919 at £17,583,778, an increase in valuo of £1,194,613; but tho volume, that is, the goods themselves, has been greatly reduced, especially from America, where tho rate of exchange is against tho Dominion. That is to say, less°goods have been supplied, but mow money paid for them.
