SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
Before an audience .that showed much enthusiasm, Mr. E. W. Burd gave a post successful programmo at the Sailors' Friend Society on Thursday. The performers were:—Mrs. F. \Y. Bun!, the Misses Berrinmn, lleece, Abbott, Lewis, and Messrs. E. W. Burd and Berry. Mrs. E. W. Burd was at the piano. Tho choruses were a lively feature of tho evening. Mr. Moare, missioner, in thanking the helpers, said men repeatedly epoko of Wellingtoniane' kindness. Yet again rare gents came up in tho short-story competition; prizes camo from Hataitai and went to tho Westmeath, Rothesay Bay, and Waiwera.
