THE COALMINERS' OUTPUT
POSITION IN VARIOUS CENTRES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, September 4. So far as the Auckland provincial coal mines are concerned it appears that tho go-slow policy is being conducted in only three mines, namely, the Taupiri Extended at Huntly, tho Rotowaro Mine, and the l J ukemiro Company's" minfe. This is interpreted by those in the industry to indicate that all tho miners are not of one mind as regards the easing ud policy. In this connection it is reported that when, Mr. J. O'Brien, represen-tative-of ..the northern -district .on the executive of. tlio Miners'federation, met tho Hikurangi miners last Tuesday, he was given,a mixed reception.
Dunedin, September 4. Records of the output •at tho ICaitangata coal mine this iveck show a reduction of about 17 per cent. , Greymouth, September i. The go-slow policy is operating in tho local mines. The Blackball rnine'B average daily output is now. 331 tons daily, compared with .100 previously; tho I'aparoa's is 74 tons daily, compared with 140, the average previously.
Tho Paparoa mine was idle this week. Monday was a holiday, there was a football match,on Tuesday,,and on Wednesday the truckers did not turn up. The State mine's full complement of men is not working; therefore a comparison between present' and previous rates cannot be made.
