* ST. JAMES'S PRESBYTERIAN. ' Tho annual meeting of St. Jamcs'B Prsshvterian Church was held in tho schoolroom. Wellington South, on Tuesdav. the Rev. W. Shircr presiding over a large attendance of members. Tho report stated that, the Communicant membership was now dfli), with additions by certificate 41, and by examination 18. Over ono thousand persons were under pastoral care. During the year there had been many changes. Twelve members had been removed by death. Baptisms mniibor 59, burial services 72, Sunday school scholars 331, and Bible classes: Junior 43. and senior 47; junior endeavour. 78: cradle roll (after promotion to school). 3G4. Tho following societies had continued to work steadily and successfully:—Women's Missionary Union, Red Cross Guild, Visiting aud Social Commjtteo, Glee Club, and Youmr Women's Guild. The choir had rendered faithful service, while the PraVer meeting had been hc-lpful to spiritual life. Congregational revenue amounted to i! 720. including contributions to Orphanago <£40, i tribute to French Fund .£l2 lis., soldiers' gifts jC2O lis., and missions <£54 Gs. A special effort is_ being arranged for debt extinction. Sunday School receipts amounted to 4)90. In addition ,£2O was received as a special donation to the Sunday School library. The following additions were made to oilioo bearers:—Elders, Messrs. F. H. Chambers. .11. P. Donald, .Major M'Crißtell and Mr. G. Scott; deacons, Messrs. H. Brooker. L. Brooker, Ilcnshilwood, Hinmrhton. and Grieve. . Durimr the meeting a presentation was made bv Mr; W. Key, on behalf of tho oilico-bearers. to Mr. Waiter M'Lay, n member of tho Deacon's Court, who had acted as treasurer for nine years. Tho Glco Club, under the leadership of Mr. Brown, organist, gave several musical items, which were much appreciated.
