0— ■ COMMISSION OF INQUIRY. By Telegraph—Press Association. i Rotorua, September 1. The report of Mr. Kettrick, S.M., of the Commission of Inquiry into matters concerning the Rotorua Fire Brigade, states that the motor hose-reel, uoOut which the trouble began, was somewhat defective when purchased. It was now as efficient as a 6econd-haiid engine could be. The Firo Board was partially misled when purchasing by the expert report. The old brigade and superintendent were capable and efficient. Tho superintendent mid other members resigned partly 011 account of ridicule through the engine breaking down while going to a fire and partly owing to the idea that the board was Irving to shoulder tho blame on the officers. The new brigade was now efficient, and the superintendent was good, but inexperienced.
