Dunedin, . August 30. The Dunedin detectives fit noon to ilny, acting under the authority of a warrant issued. under the Gaming Act, visited the waterside workers shed at the Victoria Wharf aiul arrested 18 wharf labourers on a charge of being found in a common gaming house, l ie men were brought before Mr. J.P., (luring the afternoon and admitted to bail on own recognisances of ana surety of J85.. They wore ordered to appear at the Police Court on Monday morning. , It is probable that other chargc* against other persons not yet arrested, will be preferred.
