BIRTHS, MARRIAGES, AND DEATHS
WELLINGTON STATISTICS: The vital statistics for the past month show that in Wellington 15G births were registered,' the number being 31 less than was recorded in August, 1918, when the births totalled 190. The, deaths recorded last month numbered 93, as against 88 in the corresponding month of last vear, an increase of five. . Last month 130 marriage licenses were issued, but only 35 marriages were solemnised, the figures for August, 1918, being 190 licenses and 22 marriages. The hgrnes for the eight' months show thes same features as those disclosed in § the nguies for the mouth, that is to say there is o decrease in the number of births, an increase in the number of deaths, and an increase in marriages.
