The Defence Department has'made ar> l'angements with the Pensi'ins Board for tubercular patients oh discharge from hospital, or sanatoria, lo be considered lor continuance, of temporary full pensions, which will be supplemented if •the earning capacity and pension payable together do not enable the soldier to enjoy his pre-war standard of coliitorli Application for the supplementary grant'must he'mado to the local Registrar of Pensions. In all cases of medical hoards on tubercular patients, the opinion of a specialist, medical officer is to be taken, and when temporary pensions come -up for revision, expert-opinion as to Ihe medical .condition of .the -patients w,MI, where . practicable, also be obtained. On discharge, i. patient will be entitled to receive from the Defence Department an ' open-air shelter, "which will bo transported and erected at Government exneiise. under arrangements made b.v the Direc-ti'.r-Geucral of Medical Services, or, tin! officer commanding the hospital or san.v . ,'torium from which Ihe man is discharged.
