CARGO INSURANCES
NEW CLAUSES IN LLOYD'S ' policies: At a recent general meeting of members of Lloyd's, at which Mr. C. I. de liougeinont presided, the lollowing resolutions rotating to cargo insurances were passed:— "That henceforth all agreements for insurance are (o lie deemed to include, and all policies shall include, the clause \\ airanted free of capture, seizure, arrest, restraint, or detainment, and the consequences thereof or of any attempt thereat (piracy excepted), and also from all consequences of hostilities or Varliko operations, whether before or after declaration of war,' unless an agreoment to exclude the said clause (e.g., "No F.C. ana S. ) be written or printed in the siip oi agreement which Uas been previously signed or initialled by tho underwriters, , L "That in the event of such last-men-tioned agreement (e.g. "No P.O. and S. ) the F.c; and S. clause shall lie deleted and the following clause shall then be included in tho policy or agreement for insurance: 'Warranted free of any claim based upon loss of, or frustration of, the insured voyage, or adventure, caused by arrests, restraints, or detainments of kings, princes, or peoples.'"
