ARREST OF AN ALIEN

Consequent upon complaints of the dissemination of Bolshevik principles and literature in Auckland, the local ponce, actiii" upon a .warrant from tho Commandant of the New Zealand Forces, have arrested Leonard Copland Bora noil, alias Bornstein, on' tho ground that ho is * "disaffected and dangerous alien, and , the prisoner has been incarcerated in Mount Eden Gao'., to be detained at the pleasure of Hie authorities. As tho arrest is a mitotary one, the man will not Dβ charged, but will be kept in internment. The arrest was carried out in an office in Queen Street occupied by the alien, who was conducting business as a masseur. A quantity of literature and correspondence said to relate to Bolshevism ivns'seized by the police, and this is benr* investigated.' Recently Boranoff was charged with failing to notify a change of -address as an alien, nnd on that occasion ho was fined £2. It is row alleged nsainat the man that ho has advocated Bolshevism in street meetings, that ha Iws broadcasted Bolshevist literature, and has etriven to create dis-iffection amongst tho workers, and particularly amongst Jugo-Stays.
