SOLDIERS' LAND BALLOTS

A meeting of returned "soldiers passad the following motions:—"(1) That lack nf finance should be no bar to a returned soldier having access to ballots; the production of discharge from the Expeditionary Forces should be the sole quali- ! fication for tile right to go to the ballot; (2) that the first year's rent.on improved lands bo capitalised and added to future payments; (3) tluvt the Government supply iron, wire, etc., to settlers at cost price; (4) that this meeting , emphatically protests against the niggardly and, parsimonious spirit displayed by the Govern- . ment iu connection with soldier settle- | went."
