MISS LOUISE MACK
MEETS WITH ACCIDENT IN FIJI.
Miss Louise Mack, the talented novelist and lecturer, is still in Fiji, save the Fiji "Times," and has extensively explored Viti Levu and Lev.uka and MαKogai. Miss Mack recently has- , experienced some bad luck, rather confusing the arrangements ahead. Recently she was tho guest of Mr. and Mrs. TBnniess, of CnInrni, in the Eα district. One day, Miss Mack with Mrs. Burness and a child were nut drivine when the wheel encountered n boulder in the srass and overturned the vehicle. Miss Mack fell out first with her companions coming on top, and sustained injury to both knees.' This meant rest and nursing, and her projected departure to New Zealand bv I?.MiS. Mafaira lind to be obnntlonea. Then she was told she might catch tho Tuhiiip, and wont to the expense of a special launch und car, but missed Ihe boat, by four hours. She hopes, howevv, to leave by first available steamer. She is at present the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Clfiude do Mniwey, in Suva, nnd is recovering from the effects of her accident, although one knee is still troublesome.
Miss Mack expects to arrive in New Zimlnml by the end of this mi.nth. While in Fiji Miss Miiok , visited the leper island, eighteen mite off Leviika. and had tho unique experience of lecturine to M leners.
