TAR ATAHI-C ARTE RTON RACING CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. 'By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent. Carterton, August 23. The annual meeting of the TaratahiCarterton Racing Club was held this afternoon, Mr. James Hodder presiding. Feeling reference was made to the death of Mr. H. E. Bunny, president during the year. Officers were elected as follow:— Patron. Sir Walter Buchanan; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. W. Howard Booth and James Hodder; treasurer, Mr. G. E. Allan; stewards, Mssrs. W. J. Cynpton, L. H. Smart, A. E.NBooth, E. J. Matson, J. G. Oats. T. E. Easton, and C. Beid. A tonus of JHS was voted to the secretary and custodian, as an appreciation of services rendered. It was recommended thai tho salary bo increased to .£2OO. Eighty-two new members were elected. It was decided to support the resolution of the To Kuiti Racing Club re additional totalisator permits.' A meeting of stewards later decided to enlarge the totalisator house. Messrs. Allen, Matsen, T. R. Eaton, Hodder, and Compton were appointed a ground committee. Messrs. T. Merson and W. Corlett were recommended for trainere' licenses. Mr. J. W. Card was elected judge, and Mr. E. Kemble time-keeper; Mr. W. C. Deller clerk of the scales, and Mr. O'Connor starter. The stakes were increased from .£1)00 to .61020.
