.QUESTION OF A GOVERNMENT COMMISSION., (P;. Telegraph-Press Association.) Palmerston North, August 21. , A meeting of members of the Farmers' lUnion, the A. and I'. Association, ami I the Farmers' Freezing Company i)«s ilield here to-day. A resolution, ivliieh 'led to- lengthy debate and was finally 'rejected, read: "That this meeting favours the extension of the meat commandeer until June'2o, 1921, the price to be on a parity with other, prices of frozen | ijiicat on the English market, with a ■guarantee, that the freezing stores will bo J ; clear within live months after that tiate:"' - It was decided, on the motion of Mr. Poison, of Wajiganui, that a committeo be set up to frame a report to be subknitted to farmob' unions, A. and P. associations, and associated freezing companies, of the Dominion for their endorsement within fourteen days, and in 'the ovent 'of such endorsement- being •generally given, the committee to uavo power to recommend that'a Government commission bo sent Home at the' Dominion's expense. ' It was also resolved further: 'That iho Government bo requested to cable to the High Commissioner- protesting most strongly against New Zealand meat being ■pooled with American -moat for sale, and that the High Commissioner be instructed to take vigorous action to stop tho practice; also that the Higli Commissioner be asked to cable out the amount of Now Zealand frozen meat in store in England at tho present time.",
