NEW BRITISH LEGISLATION. London, August 19. The Minimum Vvage Bill, to which j Jlr. Lloyd George referred in his speech, creates a Commission to inquire into the cost of living and to fix minimum wages accordingly. The Honrs of Employment Bill provides a-maximum of 18 working hours weekly, except where the industrial councils recommend otherwise or employers and workers ugreo mutually as to payment. Overtime imirl: he £5 per cent, higher than the normal rate.
