PURCHASED BY GOVERNMENT. The Government lms come to terms with the Waihi Gold Mining Company for the purchase of the Iloro Koro hydroelectric system. The scheme was established by'the compnny some years ago to supply power for the his mine at Waihi. There is more power than is required for the company's purposes, and for some time the Government lias had fhe purcliaso under consideration. The purchase lias now been virtually completed, and the agreements to give legal effect to it arc to be drawn at once. The arrangement will bo that the company will have all the power it requires, and tho remaining power will be reticulated by the Government for domestic and industrial uses in the towns of the Hauraki district, and in tho urban and rural parts of tho Waikato.
