Sub-com-mittees have been constituted to deal with tho subjects of .education, official publication, and the. constitution, in which the liearty co-operation of all irembors of staffs is earnestly sought, an<l Information and suggestions arc invited. ' ■ A circular issued to fho alan agers of, the banks-in tho Dominion states:—"Tho gufid is now assured of success, and it is with confidence that the committer appeals to all bank officers to 'join up' and make their institution the useful' and successful organisation it deserves to be. Considerable interest has been aroused among- the outo'de public by tho establishment of the guild, and cu.-Kratulations aid t;ood wishes' liave been received from many quarters." .Mr. Herbert Phillip Mourant has been appointed general secretary of the guild.. Ho has been an officer of the Bank of New South Wales for 22 years; He'is a Wellington College old boy, and a native of Timaru. Among his extra qualifications as a bank officer, Mr. Mourant is an associate of the Institute of Bankors of New South Wales, a member of the .New Zealand Society of Accountants, and a member of the committee of the Wellington Accountant Students' Society. tMr. N. 0.. Morgan, of the staff of the Union Bank, lias been elected honorary treasurer of tho guild.
