Mr. E. Page, S.M., presided over the sitting of tho Petono Magistrate's Court yestorday. For exceeding the speed limit while driving motor vehicles, S. P. Girdwood, F. W. Miller, and E. Williams were each fined 30s. and cost.s 17s. Gd.. G. P. Davidson and.R. L. Williams '-as. and costs l?s. Gd.. J. C. Wilkinson and A. Bailey 20s. and costs 17s. Gd. W. Nelson, F. W. Pettie, and J. W.. Roid, for failing to notify tho authorities of the transfer of the ownership of their cars. were_ each fined 10s. and costs 17s. 6d. 11. G. Young, for failing to carry out necessary repairs, was fined .£2 flnd 17t>. fid. costs. CIVIL CASES. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given the Petono Borough Council v. E. Forsyth. .£5 3s. 5d., and costs Bs. J. M'Eivan was ordered to pay A. E. Glading i£ls lis. in monthly instalments of iCI, in default sixteen days' imprisonment. R. F. Prico was ordered to vacate certain premises occupied by him before September 10, aud likewise G» Hunt before August 28.
