AUTONOMY FOR TIBET
A NEW BUFFER STATE. (Rec. August 20, 0.30 a.m.) Washington, August 19. According to official advices from Pekiug Britain and China have reached an agreement regarding Tibet, by which China would grant autonomy to Tibet, while retaining her sovereinity. Therefore China will be relieved of the burdensome task of maintaining order in Tibet, and Britain's desiro for tho maintenance of Tibot as an autonomous buffer State will be realised.—Aus.-N.Z.
