Official: The "Labour Gazette" .states that the cost of living in England is now higher than iu the tensest period of tho war. Unless the forthcoming steps against profiteering are more successful than is anticipated, the pos-itimi is likely to become worsn. The paper 'states that the increase is 117 per cent, as compared with 1911. This represents only necessaries., The increase iu many other everyday articles is far greater.—Renter.
