Owing to what are regarded as evidences of creep in the north section of the Tftupiri Company's Extended Coal Mine, the workers employed at that mine did not go to work • to-day. The 6igns of croep aro six cracks which have occurred in Hakawa Street, tho largest of which is about tiireo inches wide. A crack is also showing on tho railway line. Tho miners decided not to work pending investigation. The local Government inspector, Mr. B. Bonnie, went down tho mine to-day, and lias sent <v report to Wellington.
