It is not anticipated that there was any loss of stock, as owners had plenty of warning to remove it to, the nigh areas. The weather now is fine, and the rivers suly elding. . GALE AT WHAKATANE. Whakatane, Augnst 18. Windless Whakatane had a record gala yesterday. The wind blew down several large trees, demolished a school shed, and twisted round the fire brigade station, Telegraphic communication with 1 Opotiki is blocked.
