Evidence of the land ihunger that exists among returned soldiers is afforded "by the Tiratu Block, near Dannevirke, which has been sot aside for soldier settlement, t)io ballot taking place next week. For the 31 sections there ara hundreds of applicants from all over the Dominion, and the'ballot will easily be the biggest yet iheld in llawke's Bay. The demand for plans and application forms is still unsatisfied, well over, a thousand having been issued to date. There arq several days to go before the closing of the applications. Special steps are to bo taken to accommodate the influx of land seekers, when they present themselves for examination by tho Land Board next week,
