FORECAST AND SUMMARY | AT I'M, YESTERDAY. 'Present indications are for'strong o,nd variablo -winds, with westerlies prevailing and backing to southcrlius northward of Cook Strait, and northeast to south-east winds clßewhere. Unsettled. cloudy, and misty weather may bo cxpectcd, with rain frenerally, aud further heavy raiu about Cook Strait and in the East Coast and southernmost districts of tho South Island; snow on higher levels. Barometer unsteady, but rising soon. Cloudy and unsettled weather has ruled, and rain has fallen generally, and has been heavy in various parts. Tho wind has been variable, moderate to strong southerlics prevailing on Sunday, but northerlics to-day.
