KING'S THEATRE. 1 In "Mickey,'' Stack Stinnett's special comedy drama presented at the King's Theatre last evening, under the -direction of Leo. ]). Chateau's .LDteriiationol .Attractions, Mabel Nonnand plainly ilefi:i<j3 and. illustrates the word "thrill." She w a.-\ charming as the pretty girl she is aright rightfully expected to be. T'wro is a transition from the lively, care-free girl to Mabel Normand llic sensational. Mickey, the Normand character, becomes a Cinderella with a "kick." She takes "the worst of it" like a swimmer breasts a billow, and comes back.<to her antagonists with liberal interest. Preyed upon by covetous and distant relatives who believe at first that she is rich only to later conclude I hat she is poor, Mickey takes matters a$ they come and wins the man she. loves. Further along there is an intervening "fight." Incidentally, Miss Normand defends herself climbing poles, clambering over roofs, whizzing down the shingles and swinging oft' by her hands to danglp until her brave hero conies to the timely rescue. There are mad race? between trains and motors.' rattling "chases" on horseback, ■ an eye-filling ballroom scene, and other tlivilK A feature of the evening was a xylophone solo by Mr. Charles Stewart, who had to respond to three encores. EVERYBODY'S" THEATRE. The attraction of the new programme at Everybody's Theatre is entitled "A Soul : Without Windows." This is said to be a verv fine drama with the talented actress. Ethel Clayton, in the leading part. The play is eaid to contain a strong moral lesson. An orphan en--trusted to the care of a family of Quakers is brought up in their faith, lint she longs for the outside world so that she might taste its joys. The supporting ileitis of the, programme are exceptionally good this week, and include the sixth episode of "I'lie House of Hate." THE GAY GAMBOLS.. Under the auspices of the Wellington THiovniinu Musicians, the Gay Gambols, Mrs. Maud Bletsoe-Buckeridge's Costume Comedy Company, will give another entertainment in the Grand Opera House to-night. This bright and cheery band lias become very popular with the public, and it is anticipated that a packed house will greet their fun-making in solos, duets, and concerted niimben. Mr. Albert Russell has promised something very special during t ; !ie evening. The Gambols will show in conjunction with the Wellington Performing Musicians' Orchestra under the. c-onductorshiii of Mr. .Tohn T. Woodward, who will he presenting numbers both novel and new. Altogether (here are 50 artists apoearing. The box plaji is open at the Bristol. THE DANDIES.
