It is understood that the Supremo Council takes the view that the- political complexion of the Hungarian Govern? ment, may matter to tho people of Hungary but does not concern the Peace Conference, which is chiefly concerned with tho -establishment of a stable Government with which it can negotiate and which caji carry out its obligations. Tho Archduke Joseph has given _assurances that he is ready to comply with the demands of tho Conference. ..'.■' . It is, however, certain that tiio Hungarian; must submit to tho presence of Rumanian troops' till tho armistice is carried out, at least as far as tho demobilisation and disarmament- of tho Hungarian troops L; concerned. The Rumanian Government has not yet replied to the Entente's Note in reference tu Hungary. The Czscho-Slpvak Government has protested to tho Supreme Council against tho Rumanian occupation of Hungary. Semi-official reports from Budapest state that tho situation is improving.
