DIGGERS' PIERROTS' PROFITS
SEVERAL FUNDS BENEFIT.
Tlio Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) acknowledges the. receipt of tho sum of JM 3s. as a result of tlio recent entertainments given in AVollingtou by the Diggers' Piorrote. Of that amount, .ClB9 Li. has been placed to the credit of. tho Mayor's Wounded Soldiers' and Sailors' ■Fund, and represents half the net profits derived from the very enjoyable entertainments given at tlio Grand Opera House other than at tho matinee performance. The ether half lias been forwarded by the Mayor, with the. concurrence of Brigadier-General Richardson, to the Salvation Army (.£9l 10s. 6d.) and tho Returned Soldiers' Association (,£9l 10s. Gd.). Tho matinee produced n net profit of ,£SO 125., and this .sum lias been forwarded by the Mayor to the Free Kindergarten Association.
The Diggers' Pierrots are to conclude their tour of Now Zealand on Saturday ovening next.
