TtjJOTICE IS HEREBY' GIVEN that -*■' it is the intention of tho Wellington City Council to introduce in the next session of Parliament tlio AVollington City Empowering and Amendment j Bill. Tho objects that the said Bill is intended to effect are 1. To amend Section 3 of tho AA'clhngton City Empowering Act, 1917, as follows:— By adding immediately after Subsection (5) thereol the following new sub-section:— (sa) The. foregoing sub-section shall not apply to the sale of purtion of a holding of iand in tho City, where t.iio balance ot such holding is retained 'by the vendor, but 111 such ciiso the transfer or conveyauco of such portion of land must be coiieontod to by tho Council, and in ] case a deposited plan is required in connection with any transfer of such land under tho Land Transfer Act, 1908. such plan must bo consented to by tho Council. (Sb) Tho Council may charge a fee not exceeding ill Is. in respect of each such consent. 2. To authoriso tho AVoilington City Corporation to acquire, construct, and maintain short cuts for foot passengers for tho purposes of providing more direct access for foot passengers from street to stroet.
