BRITISH COASTAL SHIPPING
MOVEMENT TO REVIVE IT. (liec. August 10, 5.5 p.m.) London, August 8. In order to revive British coastwise shipping, and also to relievo the railway congestion, a conference of the Government and the representatives of various interests has agreed to utilise shippiny for traffic which before the war was ordinarily sea-borne. The Government will repay the shippers the difference in freights until the railway rates aro raised to the level of the sea freights. —Aus.-N.Z. Gable A&sn.
