ALLEGED JAPANESE CAMOUFLAGE. Now York, August 7. Tho Pekin correspondent of the New Yprk "Times" states that the Chinese Government and people continue to feel that tho Shantung settlement is a. luonnmbntal injustice which cannot bo defended. . It is said that the Japanese promise to restore Kiaocliau is merely propaganda, and that the only way Japan can remove suspicion is by immediately restoring such things as sho intends to restore.—Aus.-N.Z.
