The Niagara, which arrived at Auckland on Tuesday last, brought a largo nunibor of passengers, Ml in all, of whom 225 disembarked at Auckland. Her total cargo for Now Zealand and Australian ports is 5566 tons, of which 225(> tons are to bo discharged at tMfi port, the Auckland portion amounting to about 700 tons. Fine weather was experienced on both tho outward and return Journey, tno latter trip being .particularly onjoyablo Vancouver was left on July 17, Honolulu on July 23, and the last fltop, Suva, on August 1. Tho vessel went on to Sydney on Thursday. THE CITY OF The Shaw, SavilWand Albion Co. havn received advice of the arrival of tho City of Newcastle at Newport, Monmouthshire, on July 1. The vessel left Lyttelton on May 9. , KIA ORA ARRIVES HOME.' Tho Kia Ora, which cleared Wellington on June 20, arrived at London on August ;-6 according to cable advico received by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Co. . raranga at london . The Matatua arrived at Auckland lato on Thursday evening, Bnd berthed yesterday morning to dlscmliark her troops and to commopce the discharge of her Home-cargo. From Auckland she comes on to Wellington, being due here about next Friday, and from this port alio Is to proceed to Lytlelton and Dunedin.

The Mokoia ha.s been delayed on Die coast, and will not roach Wellington till late this evening. She is now to sail iu 5 p.m. on Monday for Dunedin direct. AYRSHIRE LEFT HOME. Advice has been received in Wellington of the departure of the Ayrshire from tho United Kingdom oil August 5. The vessel is bound for Lyttelton, where she übould arrivo about September 20. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Captain A. Robortson, master of the Putiki, left the vossel on holiday leave yesterday, and whilst he is away the first officer will temporarily command the vessel. Mr. W. Lyon signed ou hs second mate. Mr. A. MacDonnJd, second engineer of the Pateena, left the vessel yesterday. Captain F. N. Edgo. who has been ashoro on holiday leave, will- take command of the Kahika, relieving Captain J. Ryan, who will come aßhore for instructions. From Wellington she proceeds on to Lyttelton. The Komata is to leave at 5 p.m. to-day for Wtsstport. She will take passengers. It is hoped to get the Oalm away I for Pioton and Onehunga this afternoon. I Tho Karu is scheduled to leave to-day for Tarakoho to load a cargo of cement for south. . The Ngahoro, whioh, arrived late last ! night, berthed at No. 1 south Queen'n Wharf.
