RELIEF FOR THE DAIRY INDUSTRY By TeloeraDh-Press AK»ocl&t)on. Hamilton, August 7. Mr. A. C. Piper, Assistant Chief Traffic Manager, and Mr. A. Duncan, Auckland District Trullic Manager, visited Hamilton and conferred with representatives of (lie dairy ami other industries. A note was laken of all requirement*, ami a promise, to give serioas consideration to carry the most urgent goods at the earliest possible moment. It was not inrended to increase the present train service, but to uso it to its utmost capacity. Relief was promised in. the transport of dairy stock, and urgent pressing cases, but it was made perfectly clear that this >va» not to b& taken as an indication that tho Department was prepared to -undertake at present the carriage of live stock other than for butchers' concerns.
