RATES OF WAGES AGREED UPON.

'At tho conferenco between the South Island Dairy Association and the Otago and Southland Assistants' Union, a settlement was reached regarding tho wages. The rates in first-grade factories of 400 tons and over aro:—First assistant, JM 15s. a week; second assistant, ,£4 2s. Gd.; third, .£3 15s. Bates in second-grade factories of 300 to -<00 tons, £4 10s„ <£4. nnd i£3 10s. In third-grade factories of 150 to 300 tons, £i ss„ ,£3~155., and .iS Bs. In fourth-grado factories of 51 to 150 tons, ,£4 and -S3 ss. In fifth-grade factories. i 3 6s. Gd. Learners up to 20 years, £1 a week for ono season; thereafter according to scale. All casuals to receive Is. 6d. per hour.
