MEETING OF COMMITTEE.' The Management* Committee of the Wellington Football Association met last evening at the Y.M.C.A, Mr. 11. F. Gpdbor presiding. A transfer was granted to .T. O'Leury from Aliirist Senior to Brooklyn Uuited. Mr. D. 11. Ferguson, secretary of the Brooklyn United, wrote slating that ho intended donating a sltieid for competition amongst the schoolboy* : n memory of the football players wh« foil in action with tho New Zealand Epcditiouary Force. Tho, Swifts Club wrote complaining that on the past two Saturdays the oflicial roforco did not put in sn -appearance. It was decided to ask the Referees' Selection Committee for an crplanation. Tho Canterbury Association wrote proposing August 23 for tho Brown Shield Match with Wellington at Christc'liurch. It was decided to accede to tho request, and to select tho Wellington team after Saturday's game. The schools' representativn team will also leave Wellington to play Canterbury schools' representatives us n curtainraiser to the Brown Shield game. The Rugby League asked the association for a curtain-raiser to be played at the Basin Reserve on Saturday, August 23, the date the League playi. Canterbury. It was decided to accept tho invitation, the fixture to be left in the hands of tho Fixtures Committee. Mr. Anstell was appointed roferce of tlio game to bo played on Saturday on the Basin Reserve, and the linesmen will ho appointed by {'ho Selection Committee.
