WAR BONUS ENDED
POSITION IN CIVIL SERVICE. The war bonus that has been paid to tho members of the Civil Service duriii;} the Inst three .years ceased to lw paid on April 1, when the new scale of salaries came into operation. Tho all-round increases of salary granted under thenew- scale are regarded (initially as ineluding the bonus formerly paid. 11ns means that the war minus, plus any additional increment granted lias become a permanent part of Civil Service salaries.
