WARSHIP PRESENTED TO DOMINION
PARTICULARS OF THE VESSEL. By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent. Auckland, August 5. The name of the warship to lie presonted to New Zealand by the Admiralty w.-is announced to-day by the Prime Minister, in replying to His informal welcome by members and supporters at the Grand Hotel. It is the light cruiser Canterbury, an up-to-date and speedy vessel, finished and commissioned during the war. Aoeordine lo the arrangements previously announced the Canterbury will not be dispatched to the Dominion immediately. She is entirely ojl-fired, and until supplies of fuel are assured the Admiralty will lend to the Government a coal-burninK cruiser of tho Bristol type, •which is not quite so fast as the one ultimately to he received.
