INFLUENZA TRAGEDY IN LABRADOR
A DREADFUL STOEY. Labrador, July 31. Influenza has desolated the Labrador coast. Seventy per cent, ot the population ot many villages are dead. Neglected and wolfish, dogs beeamo savage, and tore down doors and ate the dead. There were terrible experiences' in collecting the remains. At the sealing stations everyone is dead, The dogs left only a few skulls. On one island the missionaries found the dogs chewing corpses. The missionaries began shooting the dogs, when a human cry ; . was heard, and a girl aged eight was found. She was the only survivor, and was kept alive, doubtless by the warmth from the dogs.
