RELEASE OF CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTORS
BELATED RESOLUTIONS. Two resolutions, said to bavo been passed at a meeting of liio Wollingion Waterside Workers' Union, held on July '£1, read as under:— "That this meetiog of tho Wellington Waterside Workers' Union caii upon llio National Government to immuiiu;cly release from prison, all 'eoiiscKuiliouo objectors' to llio Military Service Act, irrespective of tile grounds upou which their objection is based; also those men who are being ' penalised by the War Regulations. W'e would urgo upon the yovernment that such action on their part would bo a fitting conclusion to the lieaco celebrations of i'io last low days, and ft mark of sincere desire (o make 'democracy safe' by 'recognising that minorities have rights, especially when their honesty of purpose is beyond reproach."
"That this meeting of tho Wellington Waterside Workers' Union expresses its sympathy with tho relatives of all the men who lost their lives during tho lato war."
