There has died at Feri'ier Street, Leith, ex-Private Eoss, of the 93rd A. and S.H., who is said to be the last of the Ihin Red Line. He served 21 years with the 93rd, and held the Crimean Medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava, and Sobastopol, the Turkish, Long Servico, and Good Conduct medals. Mr. Boss was born in Leith in 1831, and belonged to a family of soldiers. He enlisted in Edinburgh m the 93rd in 1852. He served throughout tho wholo campaign iu the Crimea. During the scaling of tho heights of Alma he was wounded in tho left hand, and his riflo was smashed. Koughly bandaging his hand, and picking-us another rifle, ho kept on fighting, and did not report his wound until, after the battle.
