TARARUA TRAMPING CLUB
The adjourned meeting of the Tnrarua Tramping Club was held last ovening, when a considerable number of now members were enrolled. A draft constitution and set of rules were submitted, and irroved acceptable. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. W. IT. Field, M.P,, ;'■ vicepresidents, Messrs. If. F. von Haast and B. C. Aston; secretary and treasurer, Mr. Wilt'en; guide, Mr. F. 1 W. Vosscler; committee, Messrs. D. IToggard, A. 0. Gifford. Thomas, and Griffon; lion, auditor. Mr. Jerran. It was indicated that the club intended to take a live interest in the suppression nf the poaching now taking place in the reserves, and tho protection of tho flora and fauna nf the district. Various means of making these and other roads safer to the public have been suggested, and for tho betterment of the existing huts and equipment.
