THE RAILWAY CUT
BUSINESS 'MEN'S COMMITTEES SET UP. A meeting of prominent men was he'd in connection with the railway cut yesterday at the invitation of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, to which meeting were also invited the president and members of the committee of the Central Chamber of Commerce. Mr. M. A. Cβvr, president of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, presided. The meeting' discussed the question of setting up committees to work in connection with similar committees to be set up by outside centres in the Wellington province working in co-operation. It was decided that a general committee, representing all branches (if trade and 'industry, should work in groups. The following groups were elected :—No. 1: Messrs. C. H. Young. W. J. Uriilson. .I. T. Martin, and A". L. H'nslnm. No. 2: Messrs J. 'M. Muir, Rogers, 11. Mainland, V. 1). S'.adden. No. 3: Messrs. J. T\ Mills, \V. Mowhray, K C. Jack, T. JMlinjer. No. 4: Messrs. (',. G, Wilson, A. LeighHunt, A. Jacobs. IX Dickie. No. 5: Messrs. L. A. Edwards, W. H. Tripe, Holmes. A. W. Press No. 0: Mwssrs. 1! E. Sinclair. ITqpe B. Gibbons, 1). ]■'. Skinner. AV. TTopkirk. No. 7: Messrs. .T, fl. Horkness, A. F. Koberts, Filch. W. ■\. Chole. Messrs. M. A. Cut, president Wellington Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. C. Jf« Luke, preMdenl. of the Wellington Central Chamber of Commerce, were eleoted members of the committees ex offieio.
