RAILWAY RESTRICTIONS
PERMITS TO TRAVEL REFUSED.. By Telecraph—Press Association. Auckland, July; 31. The Herald's Maungatiirolo correspondent telegraphs t that application was made by a number of residents to-day for permits to travel to Auckland to meet their eons who went to the front in the Main Body, and are returning by the UKmaroa next week. Tho applications were refused, on tho ground that the proposed journey was not essential. Much indignation is expressed at this decision, which prevents parents meeting their sons after a separation of'nearly five years.
