RED SHIELD CLUB
NEW SALVATION ARMY INSTITUTION. Bγ Telegraph— Press Association. Foxton, July 31. Commissioner Hodder, accompanied by members of the Salvation Army Headquarters Staff, conducted a ceremony at the Red Shield Club yesterday afternoon in the presence of a large gathering of the public. The object of the club is to enter for the moral and social welfare of .youths.' -Rooms are 'provided for games,. literary ' and'musical'"' pursuits,' and there is a special .lconi for returned soldiers. Thn committee,of management consists of Jo.cal citizens and an Army official. The institution is tho first of its kind under the Army's jurisdiction, and probably similar'institutions will be opened in other centres.
