vISIT OF SOUTH AUSTRALIAN TEAM URGED. '

Christchurch, ■ July 20. ,-, .At a meeting of the Management Com- - mittee of tho New Zealand Cricket Council to-night it wrfS decided to recommend to the council that an invitation bo extended to tho South Australian Association to send a team to New Zealand-next season, and in tho event of South Australia being unable to send a team, that tho council be authorised, to communicate with the Australian Association with a view to sending an Australian team to New Zealand. It was agreed to rocommend the Otago 'Cricket Association to endeavour to ar- • range the visit of a team to play a North Otago .eleven at Oamaru during the forthcoming season with a view to stimulating interest in cricket there. A member asked in relation 'to the adoption by the Canterbury Cricket Association of the eight-ball over how this rule would affect representative matches. Iho chairman said this would be a matter of pro-arrangement between the captains of. representative teams.
