LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
OUR MEN_IN_EG\PI A REMINDER. Sir,—Will you kindly remind the New Zealand Government that we mounted men are still in Egypt and that at present thero is no sign of our being sent homo?- Once or twice we have been told thut the majority of us would be leaving on or about a certain date, but the day has passed, and we have found ourselves still in Egypt. The summer is coming on again and wo do not. know how long we are to be kept here. Each summer spent here in army conditions makes a man about ten years older. There is a rumour hero that the New Zealand Government has handed us over to the Imperial authorities for as long as they want us. I do not believe this, but it really seems as if there was a want of enthusiasm or a certain amount of indifference on the part of those whom it concerns with regard to our repatriation. Thanking you for anything yon may do in our interests!—l am, etc., A SIXTH REINFORCEMENT. Egypt, June i. [Since tho above letter was written, one contingent of men has left l...ypt, and two others were to follow within a fewweeks. No definite news has yet reached here, however, regarding the two latter. It' is time the Defenco,Departraent obtained some news concerning them.J
